Exciting things lie ahead for Cabo Real, starting with the new 18 hole El Dorado Championship Golf Course, set to open in November this year. Designed by the inimitable Jack Nicklaus, six holes will front on the ocean.
The 1999 PGA Senior Slam will be held on the El Dorado course in the Spring. Nicklaus' $200 million company has designed 151 golf courses around the world, and 38 are under construction with 16 scheduled to open in 1998. The El Dorado is the third Nickalus designed course in Los Cabos.
Combined with the magnificent Robert Trent Jones II championship course, Cabo Real becomes the major Los Cabos golf resort and one of the most important in all Mexico. The remarkable transformation of arid desert into sparkling greens and fairways represents a triumph in working with nature to create a beautiful environment and a wonderful venue for the fastest growing outdoor activity in Los Cabos.
Hilton Hotels, one of the world's greatest hotel chains, will join the necklace of resort hotels within Cabo Real, scheduled to open in Winter of 1999 with a glamorous 300 room facility and convention center.
With the addition of the Hilton to the Westin Regina, Melia Cabo Real, Las Ventanas al Paraiso, Casa del Mar and the new Melia Los Cabos, the Cabo Real Resort joins the rarified list of world class resorts. But, not to be outdone, the Hotel Quinta Real Los Cabos, a handsome boutique hotel in the Colonial Mexican style, will add yet another jewel to Cabo Real. Scheduled to open in Summer, 1999, with 80 rooms and 20 villas, the Quinta Real Los Cabos is part of the prestigious Guadalajara based hotel chain.
Equally exciting will be the opening of El Pueblito Cabo Real Shopping Center. Planned for 450,000 square feet on two levels, with space for six restaurants, 20 stores, an amphitheater, museum and residential areas.
El Pueblito will attract major clothing chains and a variety of restaurants. The shopping center will become the focal point which will integrate the Cabo Real development into a self-contained resort and entertainment center.
El Pueblito will be unique to Los Cabos, the perfect setting for an international shopping center that adds a new dimension to this fast developing resort area.
Cabo Real's Master Plan calls for a total of four 18 hole championship golf courses, all within the boundaries of the resort among the seven hotels, condominiums and homes.
