LosCabosGuide.com Activity Review Cabo’s semi-submersible submarine is a landlubbers (and submariners) dream-come-true. You can actually see where you’re going underwater, while marveling at the world hidden below the surface. Though the craft never “submerges” – the observation salon is approximately 6’ below the surface.  34 large monitor-sized viewing windows - each fronted by a padded seat with a fish identification card attached comprise the 50-passenger craft. Children enjoy using the cards to identify the fish they see swimming about with shouting cries of: “Look, I see a Damsel fish – right there, next to the starfish!” Cabo Submarine’s Nautilus II, takes visitors on underwater adventures in comfort while sailing to the sounds of the Beatles ‘We All Live In A Yellow Submarine,’ Jimmy Buffet and Bob Marley.  This fun sub also charters for weddings, birthday parties, and corporate events. On leaving the Cabo San Lucas marina, we stayed top-side while our host pointed out highlights along the waterfront; Pedregal (a private, gated community with celebrity homes ranging from Madonna to Stallone), Lover’s Beach, Pelican rock, Neptune’s Finger, the famous Arch, and sea lion colony.  Once in Cabo’s underwater marine preserve we went below to see the show.  The sheer enormity of the numbers of tropical fish literally blotted out the windows at times! I spotted King Angel fish, Yellowtail, Needlefish, Puffers, Parrot and Triggerfish, Sierra and more among 1,000’s of colorful striped Sergeant Majors.  Sea turtles, octopus, Manta Rays, jellyfish and the occasional shark have been known to appear.  Sea lions looked at us through the windows, then swam around the boat much to everybody’s delight. What’s underneath the sea at Lands End is as spectacular as what is above it, and Cabo Submarine the perfect way to experience both at the same time.
