Fonart is a nonprofit organization. It was created as an answer to the necessity of promoting
the domestic artisan activity. Fonart was constituted in 1974 and since 1995, it was taken under the supervision of the
Social Development Ministry.
Our objective is to support the artisans from Mexico that preserve technical and traditional designs and that live under poverty conditions, to help improve their abilities, through the financing and stimulus to the creativity by means of technical support.

We have crafts from the 32 states of the Mexican Republic. Barro Negro from Oaxaca Talavera from Puebla, Alebrijes from the state of Mexico, Hammered copper from Michoacan to name a few.
Mexican craftsmanship is known and appreciated the world over for its beauty, richness of design & colors. Mexican artisans transform the most varied materials into beautiful and useful objects that are
