Following a social period, a short business meeting is
conducted by a volunteer moderator at which time guests
are introduced, and announcements are made of items of
interest to the group as a whole. Notes are taken by a
volunteer and later distributed to all members via the
group’s web-site.
There are no formal dues, no officers, only volunteers,
and no special projects, just a good way to make
friends, have good old-fashioned conversation, and learn
what is going on in the area. Somehow it works!

The 11th Annual Los Cabos Tomatoes Follies, a special
costume event, was held on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at
Villa Serena Restaurant in Cabo San Lucas with the theme
of "African Safari." 130 members and guests of the
ladies social and networking organization attended.
Special entertainment was performed by the artistic
group, Rouge Music & Visual Art who were dressed in
traditional African attire with a show of fire dancing
and live music with drums and percussion instruments.
Music was presented by DJ Alex Alanis. Most decorations
for the event were hand-crafted by the social committee
consisting of decorated African warrior shields, spears
and masks. An African-themed full-course buffet dinner
was prepared by the chefs from both Villa Serena and
Puerta Vieja restaurants of whole roasted pig and goat
as the entree. A different theme is selected each year
and participants are asked to wear costumes. Winners are
chosen for different categories.
Los Cabos
Tomatoes April Meetings.
On April 10, 2014, the social and networking
organization met at Brian Jessel’s Sharky’s Mesquite
Restaurant with 70 ladies in attendance. The open-air
restaurant is in an area of fine-dining establishments
located near Médano Beach in Cabo San Lucas and is the
answer for a casual place for beach-goers to drop in for
breakfast at 7:00 a.m., lunch or dinner until 10:30 p.m.
The group was served fresh salsa, seviche made from
yellowtail, quesadillas, and guacamole. The full menu
offers Mexican home-style dishes and is especially
appealing when the mesquite grill is fired up. Call
624-143-5513.
Lynne Cerrone acted as Moderator for the meeting, first
introducing and thanking Brian Jessel who greeted the
group warmly and introduced his right-hand partner,
Sergio Garza.
Lynne proceeded by asking the guests to stand in place.
Those joining as new were Gina Fox, Fran Riddell, Cindi
Iannaci, Onagh Ash, Dawn Stika, and Mabel Gardían.
The 23rd Anniversary of Los Cabos Tomatoes was
celebrated on April 24, 2014 at Hacienda el Coyote
Restaurant in Cabo San Lucas with 100 members and guests
in attendance in the beautiful palapa-roofed dining
room. Members and guests gathered in a variety of
festive outfits and the traditional hats for this annual
event. The restaurant serves traditional Mexican cuisine
and seafood using original recipes from different states
using only the finest and freshest ingredients. The El
Coyote Tequila Bar features over 200 award winning
tequilas and mescals. The restaurant is open from 4 p.m.
– midnight. Valet parking available. Sunday morning
breakfast starts at 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Sunday
regular service starts at 2:00 p.m. Cinthya Gutierrez
signed up as a new member.
Kathy Pyfer moderated the meeting. She introduced the
staff of Hacienda el Coyote: Sergio Jimenez, chef; Aline
Avila, manager; Jocelyn Porras, director and Raquel
Almada Ibarra (in absentia), public relations. The
restaurant awarded a Sunday breakfast chosen by drawing
and Sabrina Lear was the winner! The Souvenir Program
outlined a brief history of Los Cabos Tomatoes and as in
years past, a remembrance of those who have passed away
during the last year. They were: Mary Ann Graynor, Judy
Lagunas and Joan Ragbourn. A special presentation was
voluntary testimonials stating why members treasure
their membership in the Tomatoes. Sandy Zwick, Kathy
Daniels, Kathy Pyfer and Julie Anderson expressed their
appreciation of our group. The program that every
attendee received also included testimonials that had
been submitted prior to the meeting.
Announcements are made at each meeting by members that
are of interest to the membership at large. For
