Cabo San Lucas, Los Cabos, Mexico:
The first annual Cabo Rib-Off, held February 27 at the Vagabundos Trailer Park in Cabo San Lucas, hosted 9 rib-cooking competitors. The top spot was awarded to the Realty Executives Los Cabos BBQ Team (affectionately known as T-REX) headed by Chief Administrator Carlos Xolalpa. Their entry of Chicago-style BBQ ribs was based on Broker Carol Billups’ old family recipe, which she says is a closely-guarded family secret. “Since we were competing against so many excellent grillers, including a professional chef, winning the prize was a very pleasant surprise,” says Billups, “We really just wanted to do something fun as a team.”
